Companies

Companies that want to produce Texas A&M-branded merchandise must get licensed through Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC)

CLC Licensing Process

Small Operations and Individuals

Texas A&M offers a crafters license through Community Connect, a program that is administered by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC). The crafters license is intended for individuals or small operations that wish to sell licensed product direct to the end consumer through their own website, craft fairs, gift marts, etc.

Guidelines

  • The contract year runs Jan. 1- Dec. 31.
  • There is a yearly $200 fee.
  • Licensees may sell up to $2,500 worth of merchandise. If sales exceed $2,500 in a contract year, the Licensee will owe an additional payment of 14% on the overage amount. It is calculated as:
    • Total Sales - $2,500 = Overage x 14% = Additional Payment.
This payment is made at the end of the contract year when the Licensee reports their sales.
  • Applicant must submit a picture of each product design through the Community Connect portal. Product designs must be approved by the university before they are displayed for sale.
  • The crafters license allows the sale to individual consumers only. No wholesales or sales to any third-party retailers are permitted.
